Classic jazz standards, updated yet faithful to the originals, featuring duets and harmonies from two great vocalists and a quartet of outstanding players who have performed and recorded with many well known artists over the last several decades.

Great Blue Heron (GBH) is an all-star group of musicians from musical Marin County, California who love and play classic jazz in the mode of Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble', Etta James and others. Many of the songs on Feeling Good are new duets on tunes that were previously recorded as solo vocals. Others are new arrangements featuring multiple harmonies and backup singing that add to the energy and appeal of the song. An outstanding quartet provides a full yet spare platform for the vocals. There's even a C-melody sax solo...

Lead vocalists are Jeff Harris and Sandy Griffith. Sandy has sung with Huey Lewis and the News, Jai Uttal, and Dick Bright's bands. As a studio vocalist, Sandy has backed Grover Washington Jr., Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Curtis Mayfield, Public Enemy, Jennifer Lopez, Diana Ross and Patti Austin. She also won Star Search... Jeff has been playing jazz at various venues in Marin.

The musicians who appear as GBH include David Ervin on piano and keyboards, Jimmy Sage on drums and keys, Chris Goddard on guitars, Jeff Harris on sax, and Joe Kyle Jr. on bass. Individually, they have appeared with Joe Henderson, Maria Muldaur, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Bobby Womack, Joe Sample, The Crusaders, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Pete Escovedo, Heavy Rubber, Merle Travis, the Waybacks, HowellDevine, The Kally Price Old Jazz and Blues Band, Shantytown, Lou-Lou and the Gypsy Jivers, and many others. They also have a lot of rock, R&B, rockabilly and soul credits we didn't go into here.

We hope you like their music as much as they like playing it.
